Lesson 6 of 12 · 17 min

Keeping colour clean

Avoid mud: when to rinse, how much to mix, and why two colours is usually enough.

Lesson notes

  1. Mud is most often too many pigments, too little water or a dirty jar. We fix all three.
  2. Use one jar to rinse and one to mix. Change the rinse water before it turns the colour of weak tea.
  3. Lena repaints a muddy sky in real time so you can see what recovery looks like.
